We just came back from our fifth trip and we had to resort to using electric heaters this time since our furnace is not working and we needed all day and all night long heat. We used a radiant heater in the main room and a small ceramic heater in the bedroom at night.
We found that the radiant did it's best when you turned it side ways to the room not the direction shown here. The 30 amp electrical hookup that we had handled both heaters just fine.
This site is all about camping and camping gear and our activities while camping. I will talk about camp sites, camping gear, our camp trailer mods, and our camping trips.

Places to see
The Mason -Lovell ranch sits outside of Lovell WY on the Big Horn Mtn side of Big Horn Lake and was worth the short drive when we were camped at Cottonwood Creek Campground.
You can tell by the cut of the logs that at least 3 different cabin builders did the construction here and maybe at different times, the south cabin and the end of the bunkhouse with the sliding door were done by someone with different methods of construction.

Drain valve for fresh water tank
I didn't like crawling under the trailer to remove the cap for the fresh water tank and possibly getting wet because of it so I installed a brass ball valve close to the tank that I can move with the awning puller so it will now be much easier to drain the tank after a trip, if you install one just make sure you get a good one with a handle that is easy to turn, I spent extra bucks to get a good one.

Landing gear quick pull pins
We installed quick pull pins on our landing gear for about $25 and I will say they have been well worth it and am glad I did it.

Some items that we carry to make trailer repairs
Drywall anchors
Plastic wall anchors
Eternabond leak repair tape
And a collection of screws, bolts, electrical connectors, simple electrical testers and tools.

Exterior door latch problems
Ok the outside door catches that they put on travel trailers and fifth wheels are pretty much junk, ours is a plastic T style and while the catch itself has held up it has been pulled off the door and the wall by the wind.
T style door catch
I reattached it to the door when it happened with larger screws but when it came off the wall it was more of a problem. One of the type of anchors that I carry in the trailer came in handy simple drywall anchors and has held up well so far.
Why drywall anchors ? no special reason I will try almost anything for a repair and I thought these would anchor well and I may use them on the door next.

4th camping trip of the season
We are back from our 4th trip of the season this one was to Cottonwood Creek Campground (BLM) outside of Lovell WY for 2 nights and a day.
This place is always windy at night with the winds coming down off the mtns and out of the canyon.
