BLM Campgrounds in Wyoming



Cody Area

Cottonwood Creek Campground
From Lovell, take Highway 14A for approximately 10 miles. Immediately after the 
causeway on the east side of Bighorn Lake, turn left onto John Blue Canyon 
Road /BLM Road #1122. Take the first road on the right, and travel this road for 
5.5 miles until you reach the campground and trailhead. There is a gazebo there
with seating, 2 small spots for smaller campers , 2 pull through spots and 2 back
in sites.Vault toilets on site, no water.

This site or sites is a pull though at the top and a back in at the bottom so two campers could use it or 1 pulling two trailers.
 

Site #4 & 5 
This seams to be the popular group area these two sites and spreading out into #3. 
I have seen 5 campers at a time in these two sites.

Hogan & Luce Reservoir and Campground
Is located 18 miles north of Cody off Wyoming State Highway 120. Turn left onto Park County Road 7RP and continue approximately five miles; look for the Hogan-Luce Trail head sign and take a left onto the one-mile-long access road to the site.
The Hogan and Luce Campground has picnic tables, toilet facilities & food storage boxes.
Be careful the road in does get muddy and rutty in rainy weather.



The campground has been updated, with tables, fire pits and bear boxes.

 

Bobcat-Houlihan Campground

Directions Traveling southwest from Cody on Wyoming State Highway 291 (the South Fork Highway), 
continue for 28 miles. Turn right onto Park County Road 6EH and travel approximately three miles to the trailhead. Food storage boxes and toilet facilities





Lander Area

Cottonwood Campground

The site features 18 campsites, fire rings, water, picnic tables, vault toilets, garbage collection, and can accommodate large recreational vehicles. Season of use runs June 1 to October 31.

Sinks Canyon

Directions To get to the canyon, take Highway 131 out of Lander for seven miles.
Campgrounds operated by Sinks Canyon State Park and the USDA Forest Service.

Big Atlantic Gulch Campground

Directions The campground is located 1 mile from Highway 28 on the west side of Atlantic City 

Road.
It features 10 campsites, fire rings, garbage collection, water (weather permitting), picnic tables, 

vault toilets and can accommodate medium sized recreational vehicles. 
The site is ADA Accessible.
This is a fee site and typical use season is June 1 - October 31.

Worland Area

Middle Fork of the Powder River Campground

Directions From Ten Sleep, the area is reached by driving 20 miles south on State Highway 434 
to Big Trails. From there turn left on the graveled Dry Farm Road and drive about 13 miles to the 
Hazelton Road. Turn right and drive about 17 miles to the campground.
Campground features five camping sites with fire rings, restroom and drinking water.
located at an elevation of 7,500 feet, is open from May through September.

Castle Gardens Scenic Area

Directions From Ten Sleep, take 1st (Old 10 Sleep Hwy) west 3 miles, then turn left on 2 Mile 
Hill Rd and drive south approx. 4.5 miles. Veer right on to Castle Gardens Rd and drive 
southwest 1 mile to the parking area.
Four camp sites with shade structures, tables, grills, fire rings, and a restroom are provided.
No water or garbage

Rawlins Area

Bennett Peak Campground

Rd (BLM Road 3404) and follow it 7 miles to the campground.
This is a fee site with 11 campsites, vault toilet, handpump well, Each campsite has a picnic 
table, fire ring/grill,tent pad, parking space but no pull-throughs.

Corral Creek Campground

Dugway Campground

Encampment River Campground

Encampment. Follow highway through town to Wyo 70. County Road 353 is left 
approximately 1/4 mile west of town. Follow it one mile south to BLM Road 3407. 
Campground is about 3/4 mile.
The campground has 8 campsites, vault toilet, Each campsite features a picnic table, fire 
ring or grill, tent pad,and parking space. No pull-throughs

Teton Reservoir Recreation Site

season is from June 1st through November 15 roads become impassable after heavy rain
Directions From Rawlins, take Wyo 71 south approximately 13 miles and turn left on BLM Road 
3418. Go about  3/4 mile and turn right into campground.
Includes 7 campsites, all of which are suitable for RV's, campers

There are no vault toilets or potable water available at this campground.

Bennett Creek Campground

Large Vehicle Campground

Green River/Warren Bridge River Access Area

Directions This recreation area is located 20 miles north of Pinedale, Wyoming off of US 
Highway 191. 
If traveling north,slow down as you cross the Green River.
The entrance road will be on your right about 200 yards north of the bridge.

If traveling south, from Bondurant Wyoming, slow down when you first see the bridge on the 
Green River. 

The entrance road will be on your left about 200 yards before you cross the Green

A network of graveled roads connects to 12 separate riverside camp areas scattered along 
nine miles of the Green River.
Most vehicles and medium-sized RV's can safely access these riverside camp areas.

Scab Creek Recreation Area

WY Road 353 and 7 miles north on BLM road 5423

Two different campgrounds with a total of 20 camp sites that include fire pits and picnic tables. 
The small vehicle campground has 13 campsites, 9 of which are suitable for RVs and campers. 

The large vehicle campground includes 7 campsites, all of which are suitable for RV's, campers, 
and horse trailers.
Potable water is available at the small vehicle campground and the pack stock staging area.



New Fork Campground

There are 2 camping sites, a vault toilet, 2 picnic tables

Stokes Crossing

Directions Stokes Crossing is 12 miles south of Pinedale on US 191, then 2 miles east on WY 
353 and 7 miles north on gravel road to Boulder Lake.
Look for a sign on your left for Stokes Crossing. 
The campground has two sites and has one vault toilet, two picnic tables, and two fire rings.

Boulder Lake Recreation Area

Directions The North Boulder Lake Campground is located approximately 11 miles south of 
Pinedale on US 191, then 7 miles north on Burnt Lake Road


Warren Bridge Campground

Directions The campground is located 20 miles north of Pinedale on US highway 191. RV 
campers should slow down early since the access road is located immediately south of
the bridge on the Green River.
There are 16 pull-through developed campsites, 6 developed picnic sites, 3 double vault 
toilets, RV dump station, 23 tables, trash cans, fire rings, and barbecue grills
Drinking water provided at each campsite.

Pine Creek Camp Area

Directions Take Highway 232, about 8 miles east of Cokeville.

Pine Creek Camp Area is near Cokeville and has camping, OHV riding (on gravel roads)

There are 7 campsites and one vault toilet.


Fontenelle Creek Recreation Area

Directions Located approximately 10 miles south of LaBarge, Wyo., and 30 miles north of 
Kemmerer, Wyo., on the west side of Fontenelle Reservoir off Hwy 189
The site offers potable water, a trailer dump station, rest room facilities a total of 55 campsites 
with covered picnic tables and barbecue grills,

Directions Located on the west side of the Green River, four miles south of Fontenelle Reservoir, 
off Highway 372.
Free facilities for this area include designated camping sites, 2 ADA accessible vault toilets.

Rock Springs Area

Blucher Creek Campground

Directions From State Highway 28, turn north on to County Road 5-13/Continental Divide Road 
and continue for 15 miles.
Turn east onto BLM Road 4105/Sweetwater Gap Ranch Road for 3.3 miles, then take a left (west) 
on to BLM 4110/Blucher Creek Road for 4 miles. Turn east onto Continental Divide Snow Machine 
Trail (designated by orange diamond markers with "CD" in the center). 
Campsites are to the north for .75 miles.picnic tables, fire rings and a vault toilet.

Sweetwater Guard Station Campground

Continue for 15 miles and turn east onto BLM Road 4105/Sweetwater Gap Ranch Road  for 6 miles.
Staying left, travel down BLM Road 4112 for 2.3 miles to the campground loop road.
3 walk in campsites and an additional eight sites featuring picnic tables, fire rings at each site.



Sweetwater Bridge Campground

Continue for15 miles and turn east onto BLM Road 4105/Sweetwater Gap Ranch Road for 6 miles.

Greater Sand Dunes SRMA

Little Mountain Disbursed Camp

Buffalo Area
Outlaw Cave Campground

Directions From Interstate 90, take exit 254 for Kaycee. Head west on Highway 191 for about 1 mile. 
Turn left onto Highway 190W for about 16 miles to Barnum. Turn left onto Bar C Road
(sign for Middle Fork Powder River Management Area). This road is an improved all-weather access 
road and travels directly through the headquarters of the Hole-in-the-Wall ranch.
Please respect private property rights and all posted signs.
Follow it for about 7.8 miles to the campground.
12 rustic camping spaces and one vault toilet. There is no water and no trash collection; please pack 
out all garbage.

Casper Area

Chalk Bluffs Campground

Directions From Alcova, go east 7.4 miles on Highway 220 and turn left onto County Road 316. Travel 
for 3.7 miles on County Road 316 to the turnoff on the right, then right to the area.
Chalk Bluffs has an access road and parking area, vault toilet, eleven overnight camping sites with 
tent pads, picnic tables, fire rings, RV parking, boat ramp and a parking area large enough for vehicles 
and drift boat trailers. No water is available in this campground. Campsites are first come, first served.

South Bighorn/Red Wall Backcountry Byway

Directions The South Bighorn/Red Wall Back Country Byway begins 13 miles northwest of Casper at 
the junction of U.S. Highway 20/26 and Natrona Country Road 125.
The byway follows the 33-mile Stock Driveway to Buffalo Creek and the Red Wall the byway follows 
the spine of the southern end of the Big Horn Mountains via County Road 109 joining County Road 
105 along the scenic Red Wall about 22 miles north of U.S. Highway 20/26 at Waltman, Wyo.
Graves Springs and Buffalo Creek campgrounds are off this byway.



Grave Springs Campground

Directions From Arminto, take the South Bighorn/Red Wall Back Country Byway north for 13.5 miles 
on Bighorn Mountain road. Turn left and go 12 miles north to the campground on the left.

Buffalo Creek Campground

Directions From Casper, drive south on WY Highway 251 to the top Casper Mountain, where the state 
highway ends but continues on as County Road 505. Continue for approximately 3  miles until the 
pavement ends,then continue an additional 2 miles to the intersection with Circle Drive 
(County Road 505).
Continuing straight, follow the BLM gravel road for another 4.5 more miles to Muddy Mountain EEA.
Upon entering the EEA, turn right and travel .20 miles to the campground on your left.
Lodgepole Campground provides 15 camping sites that include level tent pads and fire rings, with a few pull-through sites for large trailers/RVs. Two double-vaulted toilets are provided.Potable water is available

Directions From Alcova, go east 7.4 miles on Highway 220 and turn left on County Road 316. Travel for 
4.2 miles to the turnoff on the right and continue to the campground.

Seminoe to Alcova Backcountry Byway
Directions To begin at the northern end (Alcova, Wyo.): Begin at junction of Wyoming Highway 220 and
Kortes Road (Natrona County 407) and drive south. Continue on County Road 407 until the Carbon 
County Line where the road becomes County Road 351.

 
Pete's Draw Campground

Directions From Alcova, go east .6 miles on Highway 220 to County Road 412 and turn right on 
County Road 412. Travel for two miles and take a right and continue for .1 miles to the camp.

There's a parking area, vault toilet, seven overnight campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, shelters,
tent pads, and RV parking, trash receptacle, and a hardened pedestrian trail.

No water is available at this campground.

Campsites are first come, first served & receives heavy visitation in the spring and early summer 
months.
 


Rim Campground

Directions From Casper, drive south on WY Highway 251 to the top Casper Mountain, where the

until the pavement ends, then continue an additional 2 miles to the intersection with Circle Drive 
(County Road 505).
Continuing straight, follow the BLM gravel road for another 4.5 more miles to Muddy Mountain EEA.
Upon entering the EEA, continue straight and travel .25 miles to the campground on your left.
8 camping sites that include level tent pads and fire rings, with a few pull-through sites for large 
trailers/RVs. 
One double-vaulted toilet
Potable water is not available at this campground, but is available at the nearby 
Lodgepole Campground.
